Beth

Custom Designs / Bridal / Restyling / Vintage

Beth came to me with the dress that both her mother, Faith, and grandmother wore to their weddings. Faith had it restyled, adding lace to the original skirt and a new lace bodice made. Each prior bride had made the dress her own, and Beth wanted to do the same.

This project was more of a custom design than a traditional restyling, as I completely disassembled the dress to use the raw materials. We ended up using the original skirt fabric to make the pleated strapless bodice. And reincorporated the lace back onto the top of the gown along with scattered on the skirt and at the hem. Beth wanted to modernize this multigenerational wedding dress into HER dress. We accomplished that while still keeping it an heirloom piece.
