GaRey Jackets Fall 2010

Designs / Projects & Design

These jackets were my most detailed and edgy collection to date. Still carrying over the saturated color from the previous collection, I wanted to bring color and warmth to gloomy fall days. The short asymmetrical Isabel jacket featured lots in intricate topstitching for contrast, and a stand out collar that was sure to be noticed. While the Anna jacket was a more simplistic design, it was the only style I made with plaid and houndstooth fabrics. The other jackets were all made from stretch cotton sateen and fully lined with Bamberg rayon. The trench coat style Libby and the double-breasted LL were born to be classics and the jackets you reached for over and over again.

The day I saw a woman in public wearing the LL jacket in plum, I almost lost it. I went up to her like I was meeting a celebrity and in an almost whisper said, “I made your jacket”. She had me repeat myself and then told me she had worn it every day since she purchased it. It was her new favorite jacket.
